Happy Halloween from a Government Student

Halloween night. The only day of the year that it is okay to take candy from strangers.
Thankfully, I live in the same house as an 8 year old and was able, with a friend to take her trick-or-treating.   After thinking long and hard this is what I came up with.

Pumpkin Crayon Art

Halloween is just around the corner.  It's time to decorate and carve those beautiful fall gourd, The Pumpkin! This past week my friend  and I had a great idea to decorate those small ones the same way I decorated my Melted Crayon Art a year ago.  These turned our much better than expected.

   What you will need:
1. Pumpkin, small large, anything will do.
2. Crayons, removing paper will help.
3. Glue gun
4. Glue gun sticks
5. Old newspaper
6. Hair dryer

We started by painting our pumpkins a little before.  This is an option but not required.

Lay the newspaper out on the surface you would like to work on.  Break the crayons in the size you would like to arrange them on the top of your pumpkin, ours were quite small, but our pumpkins were also small. Glue gun the small crayon pieces to the top of the pumpkin, I would suggest putting them as close to the stem as possible.

Using the hair dryer on a medium or low temperature, carefully melt the crayons down the side of the pumpkin, this may take a little time to become skilled at, be prepared for a little melted flying crayon. Once all the crayon is melted and melted to wear you want it, let the pumpkin cool down.  Warning, the little pieces will still break off after the pumpkin is cool, so be careful and enjoy your beautiful creation! And have a Great Halloween!
