Happy Halloween from a Government Student

Halloween night. The only day of the year that it is okay to take candy from strangers.
Thankfully, I live in the same house as an 8 year old and was able, with a friend to take her trick-or-treating.   After thinking long and hard this is what I came up with.

Pumpkin Crayon Art

Halloween is just around the corner.  It's time to decorate and carve those beautiful fall gourd, The Pumpkin! This past week my friend  and I had a great idea to decorate those small ones the same way I decorated my Melted Crayon Art a year ago.  These turned our much better than expected.

   What you will need:
1. Pumpkin, small large, anything will do.
2. Crayons, removing paper will help.
3. Glue gun
4. Glue gun sticks
5. Old newspaper
6. Hair dryer

We started by painting our pumpkins a little before.  This is an option but not required.

Lay the newspaper out on the surface you would like to work on.  Break the crayons in the size you would like to arrange them on the top of your pumpkin, ours were quite small, but our pumpkins were also small. Glue gun the small crayon pieces to the top of the pumpkin, I would suggest putting them as close to the stem as possible.

Using the hair dryer on a medium or low temperature, carefully melt the crayons down the side of the pumpkin, this may take a little time to become skilled at, be prepared for a little melted flying crayon. Once all the crayon is melted and melted to wear you want it, let the pumpkin cool down.  Warning, the little pieces will still break off after the pumpkin is cool, so be careful and enjoy your beautiful creation! And have a Great Halloween!

A Beautiful Summer

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.”

This past summer I spent 3 months in my favorite country, Germany.  It was an amazing learning experience and just a great time all around that I would never take back for the world!  I was in the state of Hessen, (the best state, of course).  Looking back through my pictures I'm shocked by all the beauty I'm surrounded by.  I wanted to share some of that beauty with you.

The fields were everywhere...

The mighty Rhine...Wiesbaden Mainz

Wiesbaden, the cutest town, and the capital of Hessen

The beautiful Rhine...

Trains, everywhere! Public transportation is amazing!

More fields and electric wires.

The beautiful fake looking cathedral of  Wiesbaden

The most beautiful town in Germany, Uberach.

More Fields and beauty...nature walks!

Canola oil is made from this beautiful yellow which covers the hills of Wiesbaden in early May with its royal unimaginable yellow.

Beauty can not be captured in a photo, but here is my attempt to bring Germany's beauty to you! Enjoy!

Oreo Pie

Recently one of my good college friends and I decided to make some of favorite Pinterest pins.  She had seen a Oreo pie that looked absolutely delicious!  We didn't follow the recipe exactly but kind of made our own as we went.
Now, this pie might just look like a pie pan full of pudding, but look at what is on the inside.
This simple pie is delicious, and served with a little bit of whip-cream it is amazing!

Oreo Pie:

Ingredients:
1 pack of Oreos
2-4 tablespoons of melted butter
2 cups Strawberries
2 packages of chocolate pudding

Toppings:
Whip-cream

Directions:
Take white filling out of Oreos, enjoy as a pre-dessert, with wooden spoon mash Oreo outsides till broken into small pieces.  Add butter little by little until the broken Oreo sticks together a little.  Spray a pie pan with cooking spray, press broken Oreo crumbs into the bottom of the pan until they form a nice layer.  Slice strawberries into fourths, and place on top of the Oreo crust until it is mostly hidden by strawberries.  Mix together pudding by the directions on the box.  cover strawberries and Oreos with the pudding.  Smooth out and place in the fridge until ready to serve, the longer the better.
Don't forget the whip-cream!
Enjoy!

Peeps In The Microwave

Recently I pinned an idea to my Pinterest, with the idea of a peep sword fight in the microwave.
Tonight I was lucky enough to get permission from my grandma to be able to do it myself!
Here are the results.

Enjoy
